Its sort of mean to blind a tiger but maybe they just hate LSU, Auburn and Clemson here. This is a nifty patio bar and grill that is right on the beach. The view isn't the prettiest but you can see the water although you can also see lots of construction and the bridge but at least you get a good breeze blowing through. This is really more of a bar than restaurant but they have a small menu on the wall chalkboards with seafood like royal red shrimp along with some non-seafood items such as burgers that should please most folks. This is definitely a relaxing place to enjoy some good food, good drinks and good times.

Don't waste your time. There are many issues with this place that all seem to stem from bad management. The food is mediocre and overpriced. The drinks are weak; the bartenders are incompetent. Don't ask for anything beyond a beer. I am new to the Bay St. Louis area, and I was desperately looking for a decent bar with decent food. Not this place. Again, do not waste your time. I see this place going under in a few months. Also, they don't have a working phone line. Suspect? Seems illegitimate.

On a recent transcontinental drive, the boyfriend and I found ourselves in coastal Mississippi, hungry and in need of respite from the road. The Blind Tiger had a line out the door, so we joined it and found a seat pretty quickly at the bar. The interior is small beach shack bar--casual, friendly, with football fans, older locals and lots of beer. They have a nice selection of local brews, which I loved. We ended up staying for a while and sampling some Mississippi offerings. The menu, a few items scrawled on a blackboard, happened to contain some real gems. We opted for the mahi mahi tacos and their "big reds"--local crawfish/prawn type critters, stewed with corn on the cob, sausage and potatoes. Wow. Beyond delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the seasoning and sauce they use are divine. The big reds were glorious. New beers, great bartenders, amazingly delicious seafood and a groovy little joint. I am still dreaming of those tacos. Ideal place to spend a lazy afternoon.

I've eaten burgers from here before but this was my first time eating AT Blind Tiger. The two burger that I had before (1 at a festival & 1 to go) were delicious. I was really disappointed 2day. I got a cheddar burger & it was really dry & wasn't freshly cooked. My brother ordered a bacon burger ($2 extra) & it was a dry burger with a tiny, tiny pile of bacon bits on it. Trapani's $8 burger is a better tasting burger & includes really good fries. Sorry y'all

Had the "Royal Reds" shrimp. Nothing to write home about. Heavily seasoned with Old Bay and some cayenne. The beer was cold. Grade B on the wall but noticed several employees sampling some fish over the service area??? Hope the B doesn't turn into the big D :)

Love this place. Every time I'm in Bay St. Louis I usually come here to eat Royal Red shrimp and/or fish tacos. The menu is simple, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is perfect. Sitting right on the bay, you can enjoy the gulf breeze coming through the many open windows. There's also an upstairs covered deck with a bar. Definitely a place worth trying.

Fabulous every time we go! Simple but delicious menu. There's no AC but it's usually surprisingly comfortable. View of the Bay is beautiful and the wait staff is the best in Bay St. Louis.

    (5)
  • Melissa C.

WAY overpriced for such small portions. The menu is always the same and only about 6 things.

  • Heather D.

This place is great! I sat outside and it was a beautiful. The fish tacos were delicious. I heard the hamburgers were great, too. The service is a bit laid back so don't show up starving.

  • Chel S.

Cute, casual, good food! Come here for a mahi mahi fish sandwich or a burger and some really good French fries! There are 8 or 9 items on the menu with daily specials. Despite the small menu, there seems to be something for everyone. The food is REALLY delicious and very reasonably priced. One of the best fish sandwiches I have ever had!

  • Robin D.

Fish taco was excellent, BUT royal Reds were way over cooked and mushy with no seasoning. The raw oysters were gritty and had actual clumps of mud in/on them, I sent them back!

    (2)
  • Barbara H.

The menu may be short but the Blind Tiger is tops in location, service, and taste themahi mahi tacos were awesome and the $4 order of fresh cut fries was more than enough for two. We had a widescreen view of the Saints game and a million dollar Gulf view and breeze. If you want a bar and good food, this is it

I popped in here after shopping with my lover and wasn't expecting too much other than a typical drink at the outside bar, but I was very pleasently surprised! This place jerked me into a nostalgia that only Jamaica can bring. The Bloody Mary and Long Island were SO beautiful, tasty and plentiful...hell, we just HAD to order another round. ;D Somewhere between round 1 and round 2 we ordered the raw oysters and let me tell you...I've never seen such clean, pretty little oysters in my life! They tasted brilliant and believe me, I've had a LOT of raw oysters in my time. I'm so glad we stumbled upon this happy little place. I just wish it were located closer to Ocean Springs, lol~

Could sit here all day! Great indoor and outdoor space. Good drinks, good music, good views and good service. We didn't have any food (although the burgers looked and smelled delicious going by to other tables), but we'll definitely be back for the atmosphere!

    (4)
  • Gerard M.

This is the type of place every coast town needs! Casual feel good food and drinks music upstairs open air bars looking out at the harbor and bridges out back another outside bar, great relaxing place to meet and hang out good burgers and music

  • Darnell G.

Love the fish tacos! Smoke tuna dip is great! Great atmosphere right on the beach. Definitely be back!

  • Usalinh P.

Ordered fish taco and I figure they were going to be a decent size but they were pretty small and only got two. Wife and sister in law ordered cheese burgers medium rare and the burger was raw on the inside. The waitress was nice but the food was not worth the money

  • Lindsay M.

Really fun atmosphere and a view of the water. Inside it's a casual beach bar/restaurant atmosphere. They don't have traditional menus, just chalkboards listing what's available that day -- a good sign! The wall on the water side is made of windows, so you can look out at the ocean while you're inside. It's a small interior, but comfortable and not cramped. Crazy fresh fish... I had the fish tacos and they were very, very good, and my husband had 5lbs of the "big reds" (shrimp) and they were excellent. Spicy, fresh (I can't say fresh enough times), and big. We were totally "beered out" when we visited, but I noticed they had a nice selection on tap.

  • Matt M.

Great place to eat with a view but the price is paid for said view ,the food is good but $30 for 2 fish tacos ,loaded fries and 2 Cokes is a little over the top food was good but nothing special maybe drinks and apps would be a better choice next time ,with so many choices it's not hard to find a place with equal or better food but less expensive but that water front property is not cheap

  • Daniel B.

It's always busy it seems like. Cool view of the harbor in the back. Nothing amazing in the drink category but I love the food. I have my doubts on the shrimp being real royal reds. I mean I can't really prove it but I've sold reds for 5 years before every restaurant and their mama got them. That being said I liked them when they first opened and I guess enough wimps got them toned down. I enjoyed their redfish and Mahi sandwhich. Best fish entrees in the area. Very casual and I like that.

So now I feel bad. Smash was our waitress again on our last visit, and she was cool as hell. Very helpful and chatty. Maybe it was just an off-day for her when I wrote my last review. This is a fun place to go and the food is always good.

    (5)
  • Anna S.

Excellent oysters, killer Mahi Mahi tacos and a staff that will go above and beyond to make sure that you (and your dog!) feel at home. Limited drink selection (3 beers on tap and only 2-3 brands of each liquor) but that is just fine if you go in knowing your options, as I did. Go for the food and enjoy a Landshark on tap! I especially appreciated the waitress/bartender "Smash"; she really kept an eye on me and helped take care of a drunk harassment problem. You can tell they care about the experience their customers have.

Location, location, location, is pretty much what this establishment has going for it. We drove past it, right on the gulf, and I just had to stop. It was cute, colorful, and with the windows open and the music playing, looked like a place to have a good time. I had their signature fruity drink, recommended by the waiter, and it was good enough that I had two! I only gave this review 3 stars because of the food. My fish tacos would have been delicious if I had not let the waiter talk me into the Chipotle sour cream. It was too hot for my taste and definitely tainted my meal. At 13 dollars it was way overpriced for 2 tacos, no sides. My husband's cheeseburger was nothing special, other than it being the only thing on the menu not seafood. The real kicker was the french fries. My hubby wanted the loaded ones and I just wanted the fresh cut plain. The waiter suggested we get half of each. He didn't mention that he would charge us for a full order of the loaded. That would have been bad enough, but when they arrived, they were blackened, and not in a Cajun sort of way. My husband ate some of his and said the cheese covered up most of the burnt taste. We should have sent them back, and really wished we had after finding out how much they charged for them. All in all, great location, atmosphere, and drinks. Perhaps you will have better luck with your food.

Had great shrimp and fries here again. However, the margaritas tasted a little watered down, like there was too much water in the sweet and sour mix.

  • Maxwell W.

Typical beach bar. Average prices on drinks and fun atmosphere. But will pass on the food next time. Very over priced and anything but good. Got a basic Hamburger for $9 and that is all you get. No fries no side. Avoid sitting on the side deck on the lower level, you sit rite by the grill. Extremely smokey and the smell sticks with u all night even after u have left. Grab a drink but move on for anything more.

Very very rude hostesses! We arrived and was immediately told by the blonde hostess that it would be at least a 40 minute wait and then she asked if we were willing to wait that long. I asked to see a menu and she rudely pointed at the wall and said they don't have written menus. I was more than willing to read the board so I moved closer to read and was asked by the other rude blonde girl to move out of the way. I just had surgery and was walking with a cane but she was giving me dirty looks for not moving fast enough. At that, we decided to leave. We walked a few steps to the car and low and behold our text went off saying the table was ready. It had been only 4-5 minutes since we told the hostess we would stay. We left anyway. You need to fire your hostesses if you want customers to stay. I wont come back. My money is appreciated in other establishments that are not rude to their customers.

Decided to try it out and I was not impressed. I was hoping my $9 burger was fresh at that price. Sadly it wasn't.

We just happened upon The Blind Tiger as we drove along the bay on a day trip from New Orleans. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the breeze. All three of us ordered burgers, and we got two baskets of fries to share. The burgers are big, and the fries were SUPER good (and two baskets was more than we could quite finish). It was a very pleasant experience.

Place has a great feel good vibe, simple seafood menu which fits the ambiance of the place. Mahi tacos with the fresh homemade salsa were fantastic. Smoked tuna dip and steamed royal red shrimp were solid. Great find, staff is upbeat and bring you into that place that you have felt comfortable in all your life. Glad we drove the 30 minutes.

I just have eaten there for the first time and I was not impressed with the food. I had ordered a $9 cheddar cheese burger and it came with no fries and stale bread. I ordered my burger medium and they gave me a well done burger twice so needless to say it was sent back. My mother had ordered a $11 Mahi Mahi burger and hers came with no fries as well. We ordered a tuna dip as an appetizer and it was fair. It tastes liked they used canned tuna. If you are looking for a great tuna dip then you need to go to Steve's Marina, they are located by Pass Christian Yacht Club, they have the best on the coast for about the same price. I ordered a diet coke, and the server never came and asked me if I would like a refill or how we were doing as a whole. A few minutes later the server came and put a tray of fries in front of us. I thought that they came with the meal, and he placed the fries in a large tray thinking that the fries came with the sandwiches. I tasted the fries, and they tasted like the guy took a container of salt and just poured all over the fries. When we received the bill I looked at the bill, and noticed that he charged us $4.00 for the fries we didn't order, and for my burger I didn't eat. I got up and went to speak with the manager, and she adjust the bill for the burger and fries. When she returned to the table I complained to her about the fries, and mentioned to her what I mentioned previous. I also added that if a customer has a dietary issue about the salt, they would not have been able to eat the fries. It is better to leave the salt off they have the kitchen add the salt. Isn't that why they have salt shakers on the table?

Great atmosphere and fun setting. Amazing breeze while looking out over the water and watching the sun set. I shared the pound of steamed reds, had a couple drinks and life was fantastic! I'll definitely come back here.

  • Trent D.

Can't beat the location and view. Have never been disappointed with the food. It's bar food but home made. Service can be hit or miss and it's a little pricier than the other joints in town but I think it's fair for the quality of the food and the location.

  • Matt L.

Third visit. I really wanted this place to be amazing. Well it's not. Service very slow, no frozen drinks, besides bushwhacker. Bartender said cant make any other frozens. Food came out crispy, again. Employees all seem lost. Line went out the door. Next time I will try a place across the street. Had to basically send up a flare to get help. Two stars for location.....

  • Michelle S.

The food at the Blind Tiger is better than I expected it to be. It's a beachside bar/restaurant so I expected subpar food, but was pleasantly surprised. We had the mahi sandwich, mahi tacos, and chips and salsa. Everything was flavorful and the fish was pretty well-cooked. We came at lunch, but I imagine this would be a great place to have a drink and catch the sunset.

Fun place to eat with excellent views of the Bay, great seafood and a friendly staff. Their cheeseburgers are the best on the coast.

Oysters, Burgers and Beers. What else would you want. They have huge TVs for games and fun events year round. Plus the Patio is awesome with a 2nd Bar!

    (5)
  • Whitney L.

Aside from not being able to escape the heat and humidity, this place has a very good vibe and atmosphere. The reason for the 3 starts..we got a dozen raw oysters that were warm and crackers were stale. I don't know if it was from the heat or they just weren't stored properly. Also, the wait staff isn't much to brag about either. Sat for 2 hours and she only came to the table three times. I'll go back for a drink but not food.

Stopped by with my family to get lunch, and their tacos were great. Staff was friendly and atmosphere was crowded but not overly crowded. My wife had the cheeseburger and loved it. Awesome view of the Gulf of Mexico.

Fun Atmosphere! Good Food! GREAT Service! Beach bar feel, beach bar food but great service. Smiley our server does an incredible job! It's nice to see someone love their job! Good burgers, steamed royal reds were huge and very good. We've been about 5 or 6 times, not a bad drive from Covington. Haven't had anything that was not good. Good Bushwhackers (according to the wife).

  • Becky K.

Five stars for the gorgeous scenery but not so much for the food. The menu is very small, like 10 items or less. I had the tuna dip for an appetizer. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. For my meal I had the Mahi Mahi sandwich. It was a small piece that was overwhelmed by the plain Jane hamburger bun. A side does not come with it. You have to order fries, I believe the only side choice, separate. I did enjoy my Bushwacker cocktail. We sat upstairs and the views of the Bay were beautiful. I probably would not eat here again but I would come for cocktails.

Mmmmmmmm!!!! This is no kitschy stop at the beach. The Blind Tiger serves up only the freshest creations. They advertise that there is no freezer on the premise. So fresh and constantly changing that they use chalkboards for the ever updating menu. We started with the cheese fries. The fries are hand cut. They were loaded with cheese, green onions and crispy bacon pieces. Needless to say, they went fast!!! I had the Mahi Mahi tacos. So. Good!!! The fish was well seasoned and grilled. The flour tortillas were topped with seasoned sour cream, shredded lettuce and cilantro. All of this was topped with the fish and served with fresh pico de Gallo. If you're in the mood for an adult treat, try the Bloody Mary! It's basically a salad in a glass!!!!! In addition to the amazing food, the staff was fantastic! We were displaced from our original table because of the rain. The staff fixed us up quickly at a bar in another section of the restaurant. The bartender was phenomenal! He was quick and friendly with a ton of interesting information about the establishment and the offerings. This was a great was to spend a rainy afternoon!!

  • Alex B.

Absolutely the best laid back, casual atmosphere you will find on the coast. Bushwackers are delicious, and potent! Food is wonderful, especially anything with mahi mahi. They do a great job cooking their fish. Royal reds are great! My only complaint is lack of sides. You are going to pay around 15 bucks for a sandwich alone .

On our honeymoon stoped in to check out the hype and we were blown away great place had the loaded fries to start and the Mai tacos with a slice of key lime pie to close it out I will say this place alone will draw me back to the area

Delicious fries, great burgers and a waterfront view Complete with a full bar, what more do you need in life?

  • Steven H.

First of all, can't beat the view and the ocean breeze flows through the entire restaurant. They have 7 crafts on draft and about 15 more options bottled. They don't have paper menus here (which I thought was cool), it's all written on blackboards on the walls. Got the mahi mahi fish tacos and they were AMAZING. Some of the best I've had in a long time. The food is a bit pricy, and they don't come with sides....but the atmosphere, the gulf breeze and the great tasting food makes it a great spot!

  • Mark W.

1 pound of steamed red shrimp with sausage potatoes corn on the cob. We had chicken wings and taco's with mahi-mahi, Santa Fe chicken sandwich that was awesome. We all loved it here, and the beer was good too!

    (5)
  • Kelly C.

Staff is great drinks are good but the fries have too much pepper and there's no vegetarian options. If you eat seafood it's great.

  • Joe D.

What a nice lunch of steamed shrimp and great beer. The view is great and the atmosphere very relaxed!

    (3)
  • Angie T.

There are literally like 5 things on the menu. If you don't like many choices, this is your place. Their slogan is "Ain't got a freezer here"...supposedly because their food is so fresh. Well, they must have a really large ice chest somewhere because the cheeseburger I had was not hand formed, that's for damn sure. It is very, very loud in here. If you like to scream at your dining companions when conversing you'll love it here. As for me...no thank you. Oh and P.S.-the Bloddy Mary was watered down so much it was pink (and it wasn't watered down with vodka)

  • Beth L.

Nice water front eatery bar overlooking a marina. Sat on the outdoor patio. Food is average. Did order the hand cut french fries, which were awesome ! They have a staple menu with about 10 items to chose from and then daily specials. I ordered a chicken quesadilla, it was nothing special. Great place to have a drink with friends and watch sport on TV. Cute place!

  • Suzanne C.

First things first, I peeped the Yelp reviews before we dragged ourselves off the beach for dinner. Jen B.'s notes about the laid-back service were spot-on so we arrived before we were starving, leaving plenty of time to get an order in. From Angie T.'s notes, I knew that this would be a limited menu, constrained by the daily fish and some scant beef/chicken offerings. Since we were at the beach, we wanted FISH FISH FISH FISH FISH!!! It was a slow Sunday night while some football teams no one cares about (aka not the Saints) were playing. The TVs and associated crowds were distracting, and the noise wasn't ideal. However, my sweetie and I were so tired from all of that frolicking in the sun and sand that we weren't trying too hard to talk. If we were on a real date instead of a "we want dinner before stargazing" date, I'd be pissed. The menu is small, fresh, and malleable. It will not be the same menu in a few weeks when you visit, and that's probably a good thing. When we visited in mid-September, the stars of the menu were mahi-mahi, house-smoked chicken, and shrimp. Thank all the stars that the kitchen knows better than to fry their fabulously fresh mahi-mahi. The grilled and seasoned fish we were served was nothing short of divine! I had the fish sandwich, and Sky went in for the fish tacos. A thick slab of fish, well-spiced chipotle mayo, fresh lettuce, thick slices of onion...all of this has the makings to be a really stellar sandwich. Too bad the bun was a poor match! They need to really step up the bun department because this squishy, white-bread crap from the grocery store isn't doing the fish due diligence. Toast the bun or buy higher quality bread or something. Anything, really. Because this isn't right or good. The fish tacos were spot-on, and Sky was lost to the world, savoring every bite. He's a fan of good fish, and this was just right. The fries were in the category of "darn good but improvement is available." I mean, I'd order them again...but I'd order them even faster if they were a little crispier. (Also, an aside here: $4 nets you a big ole basket of fries...but it's $8 for bacon, cheese, ranch fries. That seems like an awfully big jump to me.) We shared a basket, and that was the perfect amount of food. I wouldn't hesitate to make my way back here, but it's also not an everyday sort of trip. This is a "we're at the beach, and fish is wonderful" sort of spot. Accessibility notes: Ramp up to front door. Stairs to outside bar/eating area. People with mobility devices must exit the restaurant and re-enter the outside bar from sidewalk. No Braille menu or signage. Can get loud at peak hours. High bars throughout. Most of the tables outside were high-tops or picnic tables. Dimly lit outside; well lit inside.

Always enjoy my visits to this wonderful little spot on the coast in BSL. Love, Love, Love the fish tacos...the staff goes above and beyond to make customers feel special. I highly recommend!

Excellent food, great service. And they tolerated the massive loudmouth in our party for an amazing length of time before politely asking him to calm down. I would totally get drunk here anytime I'm in town.

Tourist trap, what a rip off! It was very overpriced for such little food. The menu is very limited. We don't mind paying for good quality food, but we will not be returning. We live locally which is the bread and butter for small businesses located in a more remote area. We ordered 2 entree's, an appetizer, 2 sweet teas, and 2 waters, it cost $36 before the tip! There are no sides for what you order and the portions are small. So you get only the burger nothing else or just the 2 taco's, nothing else. We left hungry...$36 to leave hungry. We should have left without eating when we got the food. My husband had the cheddar burger, no side suggestions were made so we assumed for $9 there would be fries or chips. The burger was too small for the bun and had no flavor. I had the fish taco's. The tortillas were stale, not fresh. I've bought better quality tortillas from Walmart! The fish had a nice, sweet and tangy sauce, which made the taco's taste pretty good. We ordered the chips and queso for an appetizer. The queso was cold enough to thicken but it wasn't bad, I liked it. However there were not enough chips. The chips tasted like they'd come out of a bag.

Situated along N. Beach Blvd. in Bay St. Louis, this eatery/bar has a lovely view of the bay and offers both indoor and outdoor dining and drinking options. They have a very limited menu, and by menu, I mean list of food on a chalkboard, inside only. We sat at the bar outside with a great view of a football game on the big screen, ordered some beers and asked to see the 'menu', the bartender said "we don't have one" and we all laughed, but she was not joking. There is no printed menu from which to choose your food options. We started studying all the food that was being distributed around us. The grilled fish sandwich looked fabulous, as did the fresh cut french fries. The bartender promised to recite the menu to us after she got our drinks, and then she got someone else's drinks, and then someone else sat down and she got them drinks. Meanwhile I am famished, ready to order some food and not quite sure what my options or their prices are going to be. We ended up ordering the fish tacos, an order of fries and a dozen oysters. They were all yummy, the tacos were essentially the fish sandwich served on two tortillas with some flavorful side sauces (kinda pricy at 6.50 per taco, but the fish was very good and perfectly cooked). The french fries were nice and the oysters were good, too. It is a casual place with a 'beachy' attitude, don't come with any sense of urgency and you won't be disappointed.

My husband and I had lunch today and it was soooo delicious. Our server, Norma, was excellent at recommending dishes. We shared the fish tacos and the Royal Red shrimp which was perfectly prepared. The fish tacos were the best we've ever had. She also recommended the cucumber/cilantro margarita and it was delicious and refreshing. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in BSL.
